On World Pancreatic Cancer Day, I’ll pause my 70 Purple Miles across Yorkshire and bring the purple ribbon to a Purple Power gathering in a beautiful 1920s speakeasy in Leeds — as part of the national #PurpleLights awareness event.

  • We’ll bring together the people, photographs, stories, laughter and words collected across Yorkshire.
  • We’ll find out how much we’ve raised so far.
  • We’ll celebrate everyone who’s helped.
  • We’ll remember why we’re doing it.

And we’ll ask each other the question:

What makes your life worth living?

Because cancer may be the reason this journey started, but cancer doesn’t get to be the main character. Life does.

Connection, community and collaboration will be on the agenda. So will courage, compassion — and cash. Some wonderful corporate sponsors are already backing the evening, so grab your ticket and come and join us.

What is Purple Power?

70 miles. 30 days.
One purple ribbon.

This November I’m walking 70 miles around Yorkshire, collecting stories, completing challenges and asking everyone I meet one question: what makes you feel alive? — all to raise a ridiculous amount of money for pancreatic cancer.
